Kim Chu, is someone who exhibits all things creative, and all forms of thoughtful art. She began to love art and creating at a young age. And she continues because, in her words, it gives a true sense of freedom to all. “Art and design are all-encompassing, all inviting and all including. We can all create art and it is all equal.”
In high school, Kim’s talent and dedication to her craft were evident as she exhibited and sold her artwork in local galleries. Her exceptional skills were recognized when she won “Best In Show” at the Marin County Fair and achieved 5th place at the California State Fair. Additionally, she actively contributed to her school’s creative endeavors by volunteering her talents to paint backdrops for school plays and organizations. Her commitment and artistic achievements earned her department awards in both art and photography during her high school years.
She continues to live and work in northern California. Chu when on to become a graphic designer and illustrator working for small businesses, as well as large tech and marketing companies.
In 2019, Kim was honored to be part of the Mill Valley Art Utility Box Artists, a project that involved transforming utility boxes into artistic installations to add creativity and color to public spaces.
In 2021, she completed the design of a coloring book titled “Mandala A Zen Coloring Book,” which featured intricate mandala designs aimed at providing a relaxing and meditative coloring experience for users. Additionally, she is currently working on illustrating a second coloring book called, “The Botanical Coloring Book” set to be released in October 2024.
